Nina’s P.O.V

How many times I had traced these empty halls of loneliness, over looking all my mistakes. Recently I’d been focused on my biggest regret…not siding with the Xiaolin monks. I was to headstrong then so sure of myself. I could do anything. I had the power to.

Damn Chase’s soul for taking it from me!  

I turned my head at a shrill cry. I felt myself smile for the first time in ages, quickly I aided to my feet racing through eternal darkness praying to god it was what I imagined it to be.

Nina raced through the mysterious vortex. Faster, harder, pushing herself loving the sound of a painful cry as she neared the figure.

When the blonde turned, THUD! Down she went. Rubbing her newly found bruise she opened her eyes to find none other then Xiaolin Monks.  

Clay brought her to her feet, “You alright there?”

She scowled.

“Do I look it?!” Nina snapped shoving him brushing off the dirt and grime. She felt vacant unmoving eyes look her from head to toe devastated at her appearance. Raimundo reached to touch the cold unheard soul gently she seethed away.
“Don’t!” Her voice laced with pain and forgetfulness. Hurtful words jolted throughout her mind mocking her.
‘I will not sound desperate and beg for sympathy. But neither can I stay here.’ Nina thought to herself as she peered to the monks staring blankly. Before a plan could be conjured she collapsed.  

Within an hour or so the girl found herself within a candlelit room. Tan covered walls, scrolls carelessly tossed in a pile, and a sleeping Raimundo at her side.

God why did he care so much for a lost cause?
